Here they all are, well, almost all of them.  I gave some of them before I took the picture.

Thanksgiving Card

One more card. I lost count of the cards I made for Thanksgiving. It was a joy making all of them! 

This card was made using the sketch # 158. I’m joining their linking party.

Fall Cards

What a feeling of accomplishment! Making cards is one of my favorite things to do.  This weekend I have been busy creating fall cards. I hope to brighten the day for some of my coworkers and staff at my school. For this card I used a sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap, it is their sketch #157 created by sketch artist Heather. Thank you Sketch-N-Scrap for inspiring me.

Jerry's Quilt

Step 4
For this step you will need the T-shirts with the piece of interfacing, an iron, an ironing board, a cloth to cover the area being ironed.

 

Place the shirt piece over the ironing board with the logo facing down, next layer the interfacing web, cover it with a damp soft cloth, I used the back part of one of the t-shirts I cut.  The rough side of the interfacing should be towards the shirt. 

 

Here I am wearing my Eskimo Joe's shirt and fusing the interfacing.  The iron should be on high heat.  Repeat with all the other t-shirts.

The Making of Jerry's Quilt Continues

As I was about to finish this part, I realized I was out of interfacing material.  I had bought 15 1/2 yards and I had about 2 yards leftover from another project, it wasn't enough.  Last night I went to Hobby Lobby and got 3 more yards. 
Step 3
Materials
20 yards of Pellon 906F lightweight interfacing
Acrylic quilters square
scissors

When cutting the interfacing make sure it is bigger then 12 x12, you will be cutting it to size together with the t-shirt square after it has been ironed on.

Tears rolling down, sharing on Facebook, prolonging the inevitable, I cut the T-shirts last night!

Step 2 Cutting the shirts.
Materials:
T-Shirts
Scissors
12.5x 12.5 Acrylic Quilter's Square

 

 

Cut the shirts using the acrylic square as a guide.  Do not be exact just cut the shirt down to size, about 14 by 14 inches.

 

This step was the hardest for me, everything should be downhill from here on.

 

 

T-Shirt Quilt for Jerry

    It is with a heavy heart that I have suddenly realized that summer is almost ending, and with it, the time I have to finish this project.  It seemed  that the more I prolonged getting started on this quilt, the longer it would be for Jerry to leave to college.  Even though I'm trying to stall for time, it isn't working, my son  is leaving sooner than later in a few weeks.
This is the second T-shirt quilt I make, and I wish I would have documented my first quilt better 2 years ago.  Now, without further due, here it goes, my documentation.


       The Making of Jerry's T-shirt Quilt
Step 1

Gather the t-shirts you want to use.  My quilt is going to be very big. I'm using 47 t-shirt squares.  I pulled about 60 shirts, from those I picked the best ones, trying to cover all the different activities and interests.  Some of the shirts have a front and a back that can be used.  Some shirts I didn't want to cut, like his Bi-District Champions shirt or the first football jersey he ever wore.  A quilt can be made with less shirt squares. 

 

 

This on will be spared, this title is attained every 25 years!
Maybe I'll do a shadow box with it.
