Back to School

IMG_2705

Well, I finished another back to school project, I want to make this for my nieces. The first one I made is for Briegette, Jorgie's girl. I was in a hurry to take the picture before he took it and I didn't finish reading the article that Lisa posted as this weeks muse.

So I have a postive and a negative example in my picture. I used natural lighting but it has a dark background . I'll continue practicing with my next projects

I think it came out kind of cute. The boot and the crown are magnets.

Challenge

This month  at Kitchen Keepsake I'm challenging you to complete a layout that shows a Family tradition and include a meal prayer, bible verse, a quote or a poem. And I want you to use one or more of your scrapbooking toys. Do some stitching, cut with your Cricut or e-cutting machine, use your die-cutting machine, or beadazzle your layout, Crop-a-dial it, you name it! We've spent so much money, time and effort into aquiring our "toys" let's put them to good use!

Completing this challenge will make  you eligible to participate in the GIVEAWAY at the end of the month!

My layout this month is very simple, I been wanting to add our Prayer before Meals to my cookbook. Here it is:

Back to School

Reality is slowly sinking in!  We are going back to school very soon!
Terri from Kitchen Keepsake had the perfect Muse for back to school this week.  It was a cute idea with clothespins and a tuna can.  From there a back to school set for Jerry developed.
I went and got my clothespins for the tuna can idea. First I got some from the Dollar tree, they were really flimsy. I got some from Walmart, the pins are smaller but more sturdy. My tuna can was too big, I guess you need a small tuna can. So I decided to alter the clothespins and the can separately. Once I did those I had to get another can to complete the set. Then I thought some magnets would go perfect!                                    I used FancyPants designer paper.  It is an oldie but it is one of my favorites, Rough and Tough series.

To the pins I added a flat head thumbtack with E6000 and designer paper, Fancy Pants.

Kitchen Keepsake is giving away a gift certificate at the end of the month.  Every project we make gives us an entry for the giveaway!
I wonder how many entries to the raffle will I get with my projects.

The Whole Enchilada

One more page for my cookbook!  I completed Suzanne's challenge, Let's Get Stoned! No is not what you think!  Scrap about a fruit with a stone!  I serve my shrimp enchiladas with avocado. This is a dish I prepare on Lent Fridays.

I also posted it to Let's Scrap Flip It Challenge. I used their 7-4-12 sketch rotating it to the left.

Art Journal
